Imports by country
Between January and September 2017 the main importer of hydraulic cement in Central America was Nicaragua, with $45 million, followed by Guatemala, with $25 million, Honduras, with $17 million, El Salvador, with $12 million, Costa Rica, with $6 million and Panama, with $5 million.
Variation of regional imports
Between the first nine months of 2016 and 2017, the value imported into the region grew by 3%, increasing from $78 million to $110 million.
The increase recorded in the first three quarters of 2017 represents a recovery of purchases abroad, as during the periods in question, the years between 2014 and 2016, there were negative variations.
