Grupo Calesa, the largest agro-industrial group in Panama, together with Celsia, a company of the Argos Group, inaugurated the “Calesa Solar Park” at Hacienda La Estrella, in Coclé.

This plant, with a capacity of 3.8 MWp and an estimated annual generation of 5.7 million kWh, covers 100% of the energy consumption of Grupo Calesa’s operations in the hacienda, reducing 2,021 tons of CO2 per year. This impact is equivalent to the CO2 absorption of 112,273 trees.

Rodrigo Cardenal, CEO of Grupo Calesa, stressed that the project represents a commitment to sustainability and the well-being of future generations.

In alliance with Celsia, the solar park will operate under a 15-year contract, consolidating itself as a symbol of clean energy and efficiency.

The system will supply its plants with sugar, rice and balanced food, reinforcing the vision of both groups in the transition to renewable energy sources in Panama.
