Brazilian company collaboration will strengthen Panamanian livestock

The ADIR Group of Brazil will donate to the Institute of Agricultural Innovation of Panama (IDIAP), about 200 doses of semen from the Red Sindhi cattle breed, to strengthen the Panamanian livestock sector with new genetics.

For this purpose, the commitment was signed between the Director General of IDIAP, Arnulfo Gutiérrez and the representative of the company ADIR, Paulo César Teixeira Leonel. During the event, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agricultural Development, Erya Villarreal, highlighted the importance of the introduction to the country of this Red Sindhi breed for its strength and good adaptation to the climate.

Meanwhile, the director of IDIAP, thanked the ADIR Group and its representative Pablo Texeira for that gesture of solidarity with Panama, where he added that hand in hand with the institution he directs, this program will be carried out with which you will see very good results in the herds of Panamanian livestock.

For his part, Texeira said that in Brazil the doors were open to receive them and continue to provide them with the support of cooperation.

The Red Sindhi bovine breed is native to Pakistan and is known for its great ability to adapt to hot and humid climates, as well as for its high production of milk and meat, in addition, it has been observed that this breed has a high resistance to diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease and rinderpest.

Since 2021, the ADIR Group signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement with IDIAP, in order to strengthen the basis of national agrotechnology and contribute to the competitiveness of agribusiness, environmental sustainability, the socio-climatic resilience of agriculture and food sovereignty, for the benefit of Panamanian society.
