An environmental impact study has been submitted for the construction of a beverage production and distribution plant measuring 144 thousand square meters in Panama City.
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) submitted to the National Authority of the Environment in July 2015 by the company Pacific Brewery SA, indicates that the aim is to complete construction of the plant in 12 months, and that they plant will consist of 70,366 of open construction and 74,317 cubic meters of enclosed areas.
The enclosed area includes the construction of a gatehouse, an administration building, bottling and warehouse area, sales building, machine room, building hoists, electrical mechanical building services, medical clinic, among others.
The plant will be located in the district of Veracruz, Arraiján District, Province of Panama Oeste, in the Logistics Park, owned by London & Regional Panama, SA.
The following production processes will be carried out in the plant: alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (shipping and receiving of grain, sugar, malt, malted barley, grinding, mashing, wort filtration, boiling, rest and clarification, cooling, fermentation, maturation, filtration), packing the final product (cleaning and disinfection of packaging, filling and sealing of containers, labelling and boxing).
Wastewater treatment plant: It has been conceived with tertiary treatment, which involves three stages of treatment: anaerobic + aerobic + polished finish, in order to obtain minimum values ??of COD (chemical oxygen demand) of less than 75 mg / l BOD (biological oxygen demand) less than 20 mg / l. Additionally, the design includes water treatment seperate from cleaning and rinsing based on caustic soda and other agents in order to more effectively dissolve solids and deliver values ??below 500 ppm. This plant operates on the principle of reverse osmosis and the end product filtered water can be reused in other processes.
