Bad day fishing in Panama, Marlin wins!!

News from Panama / Wednesday, January 30th, 2013

I caught a 500 pound Blue Marlin this last year with the Panama Big Game Fishing Lodge here in Boca Chica and we backed down on the fish to get it to the boat quick and release it.  Problem with that is you need an experienced captain watching the fish, the fisherman and the waves and you never turn the boat into a swell as these guys did and you never fall down on the job loosing control of the situation.

This is a picture of a West Coast Fishing Club  Strike that went down last week. Captain was backing down on that big black marlin, buried the transom in a swell and down she went in about 600 feet of water of off Pinas Bay….they said the client was still reeling waist deep in water…..

Luckily there were two other boats in the area and no one was injured.  BTW, I know of a captain for hire if you need one.

Great pictures of the Marlin still jumping as the boat sinks.  $10 for the his thoughts, hah!
