In Panama a contract has been awarded to Meco for the design, construction and operation of a collection and wastewater treatment system in the city of Santiago, Veraguas.
The work consists of renovating existing sewerage networks, construction of new networks and collection systems, secondary networks, domestic and intra-domestic connections, pumping stations and a complete and modern wastewater treatment plant.
Companies participating in the tender were: Consorcio Aguas de Santiago, Consorcio Rodsa-IJ Santiago, Consorcio ABA Veraguas, Sacyr Construcción and Consorcio Synohidro-Cocige-DAM.

At a cost of 95 million dollars, the Government of the Republic of Panama awarded a contract for the “study, design, construction, operation and maintenance of a collection and wastewater treatment system for the city of Santiago in the province of Veraguas“.
On Tuesday, during the Cabinet Council meeting in La Primavera school, in Santiago, President Juan Carlos Varela, accompanied by Julia Guardia, director of the Institute of Aqueducts and Sewage Systems (Idaan), highlighted the transparent bidding process in which the company Meco was awarded the implementation of the project which will benefit more than 130 thousand inhabitants.
