Here is Chiriqui, we generate most of the hydro power in all of Panama. I have 200 hectares on the Chriqui Viejo river where we are exploring a run of the river hydro project. There are around 16 projects on that river and more to come.
AES owns 31.4% and Fortuna 15.9% of the Panamanian electricity market. Nine other companies such as Alternegy achieved 5.7 % market share, BLM 8.3 %, Pan Am 8.6%, Pedregal 4%, Gena 2.1%, Tcaribe 3.4 %, IDB 6%, Ideal 8,1% and ACP 6.3%, ie the remaining 52.7 % .
According to the Public Services Authority (ASEP) in August the revenue generated by these companies totaled $115 million. “… EDEMET reached the amount of $59.7 billion, ENSA $47.6 million and EDECHI the amount of $7.8 million. In 2012 , the revenue raised by these companies amounted to $1.152 billion. The revenue growth of the companies has been accompanied by a growth in energy demand which during the first six months of 2013 went up by 6.2%.
