2025 has brought good news for the export area in Panama, since so far this year there has been growth in this sector.
For the above, a total of 76.9 million dollars has been reached in the first month, which represents an increase of 14 million dollars (22.3%) compared to January 2024, when registered exports were 62.9 million dollars.
The Minister of Commerce and Industries, Julio Moltó, said: “This growth stands out as the most significant recorded in the first month of the year within the period between 2010 and 2025, which underlines the good performance of the Panamanian economy in its international trade.”
In terms of products, bananas continue to be the main engine of Panamanian exports, representing 17.8% of total exports in January 2025.
Frozen shrimps ranked second, with 13.4% of the total, consolidating themselves as another product in high demand in international markets.

These are followed by products of great importance such as antihistamine and antipyretic drugs (4.6%), raw teak (4.5%) and raw palm oil (4.4%).
Other relevant tariff fractions include iron and steel waste (4.2%), Portland cement, which for the first time is among the main exported products with 2.6%, aluminum waste and waste (2.4%), yellowfin tuna (2.3%) and fishmeal (2.2%).
Overall, these 10 tariff fractions represent 58.4% of total Panamanian exports in this period.
