The government of President José Raúl Mulino announced that it intends to tender the San Miguelito Cable Car before the end of 2024. This goal was announced this Friday by the mayor of San Miguelito, Irma Hernández, after a meeting with the president at the Palacio de Las Garzas, according to a note from the presidency of the Republic.

The mayor explained that the cable car project is a long-awaited need for the population of San Miguelito. During the meeting, he also requested support from the President to address the garbage and lack of water crises that affect the district, as well as to conclude several infrastructure projects that are pending.

Among the works mentioned by Hernández are the new Santa Librada School, the San Isidro Health Center and the San Isidro Paid Zone. All these constructions are practically finished, but they have not yet been put at the service of the community.

Before her meeting with the president, the mayor held a coordination meeting with the Secretary of Goals and Minister of Canal Affairs, José Ramón Icaza, to evaluate the current state of the projects and align the priorities of the district. He also discussed with the Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, who, on behalf of the President of the Republic, assured that the pending infrastructure works will be followed up and periodic meetings will be coordinated to verify the progress of the cable car and other plans for the district.
