Franquicias Panameñas, S.A. sold KFC and DQ to Platinum Brands, S.A.

 The operator of the KFC and DQ restaurant chain in Panama, Franquicias Panameñas, S.A. announced that all the restaurants of both chains throughout the country will be operated by Platinum Brands, S.A.

According to a statement from the company, this strategic alliance represents for them to achieve growth and consolidation in the market, where Platinum Brands, S.A. will contribute their experience and financial resources, which will allow them to boost the success of their KFC and DQ brands in Panama.

In addition, as part of the transition, the position of General Manager will be assumed by Juan Carlos Andrade, who has a trajectory in the management of similar businesses in different countries, so they are sure that his leadership will bring benefits and dynamism to the work team.

Similarly, the company said that Platinum Brands, S.A. will assume the labor liabilities of all the staff of Franquicias Panameñas, S.A., guaranteeing the stability and well-being of its work team.

They also commit to make significant investments in the renovation and opening of new branches, in addition, the training and professional development of the collaborators will be a priority for new operators.

Franquicias Panameñas, S.A. is the company that owns the KFC and Dairy Queen brand conglomerate in Panama. It emerged in 1972 with the aim of merging under the same administrative concept Dairy Queen and KFC that operated separately in Panama since 1959 and 1969 respectively.

The company is related to the international franchise groups of: Yum Restaurants Inc. and International Dairy Queen (it is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway; which acquired it in 1998).
