Productos Nevada, a subsidiary in Panama of the Cooperative of Milk Producers Dos Pinos, has announced an investment of US$ 7 million made in the last four years in its Nevada Plant, located in the province of Chiriquí.

This announcement was made during the recent annual meeting with producers in Nevada, where the company reaffirmed its commitment to the Panamanian productive sector. Currently, Nevada leads the market in the purchase of Grade A milk, with a 46.5% share throughout the country, thanks to recognized brands such as La Chiricana, Nevada and Dos Pinos.

“The investments of Productos Nevada are focused on the productive, operational and technological improvement of the plant in Chiriquí, as well as on the strengthening of our presence of brands in various points of sale throughout the country,” said Eckart Schosinsky, Country Manager of Nevada Products.

Schosinsky added that the Nevada Plant produces 95% of its production in various lines, including long-life milk, flavored drinks, oats and nectars. “As a company, we are committed to the School Milk Cup Program of the Ministry of Education,” he said.

In addition, Schosinsky pointed out that the company has strengthened its technical assistance programs for its producers. In particular, he highlighted the Aliados Plan, a program implemented in Dos Pinos that has graduated about 200 farmers in Costa Rica and that already has a graduate producer in Panama. “Through the Allied Plan, we seek to improve the quality, productivity and profitability of the farms that supply us with raw materials on a daily basis,” Schosinsky said.

During the annual meeting, the executives of Nevada Products delivered awards to representatives of the public sector, producer guilds, suppliers and business associations that supported the operational management of the plant during the social crisis of October and November 2023.

Productos Nevada is a key generator of employment in Panama, with about 200 direct places and 1,700 jobs through its logistics operator. The company has also been recognized as one of the 15 best to work in Panama, according to the Great Place to Work ranking.
