The Director of International Cooperation and National Liaison Officer before the IAEA, Margelia D. Palacios J., within the scope of the biennial call made by the Agency to the member countries, virtually gathered the representatives of the Panamanian entities interested in submitting proposals for technical cooperation projects. With this training, preparations for the design of the Technical Cooperation Program 2026-2027 began.
This first meeting was aimed at generating a space for dialogue and learning where participants could familiarize themselves with the IAEA Technical Cooperation Program, which will be a basis for advancing in the design of future proposals for national projects that will respond to the needs of the country, on topics such as: radiation protection; food safety; management of water resources; marine, terrestrial and coastal environments, and radiation technology for industrial applications.
Director Palacios in her speech highlighted the importance of these training spaces, with which it is sought to publicize the processes for the formulation of the cooperation projects that will make up the Panama portfolio.
This initiative was attended by representatives of different national institutions; Ester Monroy, specialist of the IAEA Program and Margelia Palacios, Director of International Cooperation and National Liaison Officer to the IAEA.
