According to reports from the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), the record of hotel occupancy in the provinces of Los Santos and Herrera is above 85%, with hotels near the city of Las Tablas having up to 100% occupancy for the days between Friday, January 12 and Sunday, January 14, on the occasion of the Thousand Polleras Parade.
On the other hand, the hotels in the provinces of Veraguas and Coclé, which are part of the Pacific Riviera, have a wide availability to receive the participants of the parade, generating interest and demand as the date of the parade approaches.
The administrator of the ATP, Denise Guillén, said that this folkloric event that will be held in the city of Las Tablas on January 13 of the current year, in this version will be presenting important innovations that seek to increase the economic impact in the Azuero region, as well as in the Pacific Riviera and the province of Veraguas, diversifying the offer and permeating throughout the tourism value chain.
As part of this strategy implemented for this purpose, the “Tourist Passport” has been enabled on the website www.milpolleras.gob.pa, a space that aims to publicize the wide diversity of tourist attractions and destinations, activating the tourist value chain in the areas surrounding the city of Las Tablas.
In addition, from Wednesday, January 10, a series of activities will be carried out that will enhance the typical national dress, as well as the work of artisans, in addition to farmers in the region.
Hotels, restaurants, inns and street vendors prepare for the date and generate income from the visit of more than 250,000 people who are expected to attend the activity.
