The Electric Transmission Company, S.A. (ETESA) has announced the award in a public ceremony of a project to strengthen the electrical infrastructure in the province of Chiriquí. by granting the project of adding a new transformer in the Boquerón III substation, with the aim of improving the safety and reliability of the electricity supply in the region.
This project, which represents an investment of US$6,784,689.14, is based on exhaustive studies and analysis of the National Integrated System, which revealed the need to incorporate the T3 Transformer into the Expansion Plan of the National Interconnected System (PESIN) in the Boquerón III substation.
The initiative, which was carried out at the public event No. 2022-2-78-0-04-LV-015845, has as its primary objective to guarantee the safety and reliability of the currently connected generation plants and the future ones that are expected to join the 34.5 kV bar of the Boquerón III substation.
The incorporation of the new 83 MVA transformer in the Boquerón III substation, Chiriquí province, will not only increase the reliability of the National Interconnected System, but will also facilitate the integration of new renewable energy plants in the region.
These projects, which include hydroelectric and solar installations, will play a fundamental role in the diversification of the energy matrix and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
