Air Transat and Sunwing Airlines restart charter flights from Canada to Rio Hato

News from Panama / Friday, October 13th, 2023

The Air Transat and Sunwing Airlines, which operate direct tourist flights from Canada, begin their operations from November 2 and 3, with four weekly frequencies, expanding their services to five from November 21, 2023, sources from Scarlett Martínez International Airport in the province of Coclé announced.

This increase in flights will allow Canadian tourists to arrive at the Rio Hato air terminal, starting in November to enjoy a varied gastronomic offer, paradisiacal beaches and a warm climate, thus reactivating tourism on the Pacific coast of Panama.

The Scarlett Martínez airport in Rio Hato processed 45,258 passengers until July of this year and carried out 3,971 air operations.

Raffoul Arab, General Manager of Tocumen International Airport, a company that operates the Rio Hato terminal and three other regional terminals, stressed that, “we are seeing the fruits of a dynamic management of airport promotion aimed at increasing Panama’s air connectivity and positively impacting the communities of the central region of the country, as flight frequencies increase.”
