Panama promotes training for bee breeders in order to increase honey production

Panama promotes the breeding of bees for the production of honey, starting the first week of September the First Seminar “Practical Theoretical in Beekeeping”, scheduled for this year, in the “Compa MIDA” Meeting Room, in the city of Santiago, province of Veraguas about 250 millimeters from Panama City.

This seminar, which ran from September 4 to 8, was aimed at producers beginning in the beekeeping activity of rural areas of the country. In this activity, the participation of producers from four (4) MIDA Regions (Chiriquí, Veraguas, Bocas del Toro and the Region) was achieved; as well as independent producers interested in the activity.

In total, there was a participation of 25 producers, supported by the National Livestock Directorate, through the Beekeeping Improvement Program.

The main topic of this training was: Basic principles to start as a beekeeper among others and Management of the Modern Hive and components.

The National Director of Livestock, Dr. Avelino Ureña, thanked the participation of the producers and urged them to continue with enthusiasm in the beekeeping activity, since with the products that come from bees (bee honey, pollen, propolis, poison, wax, and others) they receive social, economic and environmental benefits, in favor of their families.
