The Maritime Authority of Panama gets credit to complete the construction of the new Cruise Port

A total of US$10 million will be used by the Maritime Authority of Panama (AMP) to complete the construction of the Panama Cruise Port, of the US$12 million that were approved by the Budget Commission of the National Assembly of a supplementary credit.

This credit was supported by the administrator of the AMP, Noriel Araúz, who explained that of this item, $10 million will be used for the commissioning of the Passenger Terminal of the Cruise Port.

Araúz assured that the new Cruise Terminal will help to boost the economy, through tourism, passenger transport and the auxiliary maritime industry that will serve these ships, through supply.

On the other hand, the administrator of the AMP reported that of the US$12 million US$1 million will be used to reinforce the budget line of the investment line, specifically to address cases of refloating and safe location of shipwre species that endanger the marine environment.

US$1 million will also be used to reinforce the item of the operating budget for the acquisition of inputs and various equipment for the care of pollution from hydrocarbon spills.
