The national flag carrier, Cayman Airways Ltd., relaunches direct flights twice a week to Tocumen International Airport in Panama
The Cayman Islands and Panama are now closer than ever since Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) has reopened a route between the two destinations. This new non-stop flight will provide Panamanians and Latin American travelers with easy and comfortable access to the Cayman Islands, known for their beautiful beaches and unique vacation experiences.
With its new fleet of 160-seat B737-8 aircraft, non-stop flights to Panama will operate on Mondays and Thursdays to allow weekend trips or longer stays. The departure from Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) will be late in the morning, arriving in Panama in the early afternoon after 1 hour and 50 minutes of flight. The arrival flight will depart from Panama one hour and 30 minutes later and arrive in Grand Cayman before 5:00 p.m.

This route will provide the perfect combination of leisure and business travel options for our customers in the Cayman Islands, as well as in Latin America.”
The departure of the flight from Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM) in Grand Cayman on Monday, June 26, 2023, was held with a special ribbon cutting ceremony attended by local officials and industry partners. When the aircraft entered the runway to take off, the Cayman Islands Fire Service threw the usual water cannon shot at it to celebrate the occasion.
On the occasion of the departure of the flight from Panama to the Cayman Islands on the same day, a similar party was held at Tocumen International Airport, which was attended by the delegation of the Cayman Islands, headed by the Minister of Tourism and Ports, the Honorable Kenneth Bryan. Likewise, the delegation of the Cayman Islands will attend a series of events and meetings in Panama with the tourism industry, tourism authorities, the media and special guests.
The Cayman Airways Panama route will operate throughout the year twice a week with service on Mondays and Thursdays. Tickets to travel on the Cayman/Panama route can be purchased through www.caymanairways.com, the Cayman Airways reservation center.
