World Federation of Trade Unions rejected judicial outrages in Panama

The regional office of the World Federation of Trade Unions sent a letter to the president of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo, warning about judicial abuses against union leaders, it was announced today. In a communiqué of the National Workers Central of Panama (CNTP), it was specified that in the missive subscribed in Havana (Cuba), the labor movement of Latin America and the Caribbean expressed its concern upon learning of the sentence of 60 months of imprisonment to seven union leaders, for alleged irregularities in the management of the educational insurance. In the text, the WFTU indicated that it is known that in an audit carried out in the isthmus by the Comptroller General of the Republic, it was ruled that there was no misuse of these resources, administered by the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development.
