The Municipality of Panama will hold the Christmas parade on December 11, an event that was not planned for this year due to the restrictions of COVID-19.

The capital commune will invest $2.8 million in the Christmas parade called Panamanian traditions at Christmas.

The Christmas parade will feature 12 allegorical carts that highlight customs and traditions.

“There will be a Christmas parade on December 11 at 4:00 p.m. at the Coastal Tape. We will have 12 allegorical cars, 12 music bands, they come from La Chorrera, they come from Colón,” said the mayor of the capital, José Luis Fábrega.

The National Economic Council in a meeting held on October 27, 2022, by unanimous vote, issued a concept favorable to the exceptional contracting procedure to be signed between the Municipality of Panama and the company Festieventos

and $2.2 million in the 2023 budget.

The justification of the Mayor’s Office of Panama to use the exceptional procedure in hiring is that due to the restrictions on mass events, which until recently prevailed in the country, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Christmas parade had not been contemplated, however, since most of the health restrictions that prevented its celebration had been lifted.
