Panama has recorded 290 homicides so far this year, up 19.3 percent from the same phase in 2021, 47 cases, a report by the Ministry of Public Security said today.
According to the head of that portfolio, Juan Manuel Pino, the reduction in these crimes responds to actions taken to neutralize networks associated with drug trafficking and organized crime in various regions of the country, particularly in the Colón. .
The official specified that 56 per cent of the murders (163 cases) registered in 2022 are related to drug trafficking.
