Copa is my favorite airline and not a day goes by where I do not hear about Copa whether it is a new route, new planes or new cooperation with other carriers to increase business through Tocumen International Airport, the true Hub of the Americas. Now we can add Chicago to the list of North American cities served by Copa. They just began serviceo Toronto this month as well.
Panama’s Copa Airlines will make Chicago O’Hare its first destination in the U.S. Midwest.
The carrier will begin service to O’Hare from its Panama City hub on Dec. 15, flying one daily round-trip flight on the route using Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
Copa notes Chicago passengers will be able to connect via its “Hub of the Americas” in Panama City to “destinations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, without customs/immigration waits for in-transit passengers.”
Chicago will be Copa’s sixth U.S. destination, joining Los Angeles, Miami, New York JFK, Orlando and Washington Dulles.
In addition to the Chicago service, Copa also announced new routes from its Panama City hub to Cucuta, Colombia, and Asuncion, Paraguay.
