In Panama, environmental impact studies have been submitted for the development of vertical and horizontal residential projects in different parts of the country.
Despite the slowdown that has been recorded in the cost of new construction works in Panama, several environmental impact studies have been submitted in recent months to develop residential projects, both in Panama City and in other areas of the country, such as in the province of Chiriquí.
Details of some of the recently submitted Environmental Impact Studies:
Residencial Bello Futuro, S.A. submitted an EIA to build 319 single-family homes with all the corresponding urbanization works. Additional construction is planned for 2,120 apartments that will be spread among 53 five-story buildings.
According to the document, the project is called “Residencial Bello Futuro” and will be located in the Nuevo Chorrillo sector, in the district of Arraiján in the province of Panamá Oeste. The study details that the approximate investment is $102 million.
Seagull Beach, S.A. submitted an EIA to build on the Island of Boca Brava, Chiriquí province, eight apartment towers with seven floors each that will house 128 housing units in total. In addition a clubhouse will be built which includes a Spa, swimming pools, gym, soccer field, tennis and squash courts, walking and jogging track, commercial area, among other amenities for the use by owners and visitors.
The study for the project details that the work will require an estimated global investment of around $100 million.
