Panama: $88 Million Road Works Awarded

A contract has been awarded to Constructora MECO for the design, construction and maintenance of works for the renovation of the Transístmica highway, section Plaza Agora – San Isidro Station.

The companies that took part in the tender for the renovation of a stretch of approximately 10 kilometers were Constructora MECO, Sacyr Construcción, Constructora Urbana and Conalvias Construcciones, with offers of $88 million, $86 million, $87 million and $90 million, respectively.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Public Works:

The Ministry of Public Works, through a tender for the best value N ° 2016-0-09-0-08-LV-004817, awarded the construction company MECO, S.A. the project “Study, design, construction, and maintenance of works for the renovation of the Transístmica highway, section Plaza Agora to San Isidro station, province of Panama“.

This project consists of an approximate length of 10 kilometers, whose studies and designs begin at the intersection with De La Paz Avenue and end at the entrance to Villa Zaita, while the works that are to be executed include the stretch that begins at Plaza Ágora and ends at the San Isidro Metro Station.
