Five Offers to Build $180 million Hospital

The consortiums Hospital Aquiteco, Pro Coclé, Hospital A.T., HAT Panama and HOSPITAL A.T. presented their proposals in the tender to build a new hospital in Coclé, Panama.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Health in Panama:

The Ministry of Health (MINSA) held the public event to begin the study, design, construction, equipment, and preventive and corrective maintenance for three years, of the new Hospital Aquilino Tejeira, Coclé province, in which five companies took part.

The five companies that submitted proposals for this act, whose reference price is B /. 180 million, were: Consorcio Hospital Aquiteco, Consorcio Pro Coclé, Consorcio Hospital A.T, Consorcio HAT Panamá and Consorcio HOSPITAL A.T.

During the tender, the Minister of Health, Dr. Temístocles Diaz, stressed the importance of having a new Aquilino Tejeira Hospital that fulfills all health expectations and which contributes to the population seeking quality medical care.
In this sense, he thanked the interest of the companies for taking part in the public act and wished them good luck so that the company that gains the award will responsibly provide a new hospital that meets the requirements.

The Director of the Health Region of Coclé, Dr. Ana María Martins, said that the population of the province is waiting for the construction of the new Aquilino Tejeira Hospital, which will benefit more than 250 thousand people, including the population in areas with access difficulties in the North of Penonomé.

The New Aquilino Tejeira Hospital will have a total of 250 beds, a Hemodialysis Unit to cover the need for care of those patients in the interior of the country who require this service; plus an area for Semi Intensive and Operating Rooms.
