Housing Sale Prices Up 21%

Between January 2015 and June 2017 the average price per square meter of homes and apartments for sale in Panama City increased by $350.

Data from the Panamanian Chamber of Construction (Capac) indicates that the average price per square meter of homes for sale in the capital increased from $1,700 in January 2015 to $2,050.

Laestrella.com.pa reports that “…According to figures from the main business guild in the construction industry, the sale price in the metropolitan area varies, and it ranged from $928 to $2,892 a square meter in June 2017.”

“… The Capac figures also show that, in the first half of 2017, 27.7% of the homes sold were priced at up to $120,000. In addition, 4.6% of what was sold had a price range of $120,001 to $140,000 and 13.8% of the properties sold ranged from $140,001 to $180,000.”
