Cruising the Caribbean – Part 2

News from Panama / Monday, June 19th, 2017

Wow, we had a great week off on our cruise from the Port of Colon in Panama to Cartagena, then to Curucao and on to Bonaire and Aruba.

Before we left, we toured the Bio Museo in Panama City as we had never visited it before and I must say, it was worth the trip.

Our ship is classified as a small boat with around 1,500 passengers and 800 crew.  It was big enough for Susie and me and we felt like we had very personalized  service.  We had a junior suite with a balcony and Waves Club privileges.  We upgraded to top shelf alcohol and treated ourselves to the best Spanish wines, Portuguese rum and anything else we wanted.  Food was excellent at the Restaurant where you had numerous choices prepared the way you like it.  Even the buffet  offered great food.

We saw shows every night on board and woke up to a new port each morning disembarking on shore excursions from a Hop On Hop Off Bus tour in Cartagena to a submarine ride to 140 feet in Aruba!

You can see our pictures at the links below and if you are interested in this tour package, it is $1,400 per person for the week.  It is worth the money and a great add on to your next trip to Panama.

Curucao

Bonaire and Aruba

I must say that the islands and the waters are incredible but dry and it was good to get back to our green mountains.  Even the rain felt good on my face and it is great to be home in Boquete, land of rainbows, rivers and waterfalls!
