Dunkin’ Brands, parent company of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, has announced that Grupo Tagaropulos has acquired 13 Dunkin’ Donuts stores and seven Baskin-Robbins shops in the Central American country of Panama. This makes the group the brands’ sole franchisee in that country, according to a press release.

Grupo Tagaropulos has decades of experience in Panama-based food and retail concepts. The company plans to remodel existing shops and add locations in the coming years, the release said.

“Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins have become favorites of guests in Latin America and around the world,” said Grupo Tagaropulos CEO Julio Lizarzarubu. “We look forward to re-energizing the brands here and adding new locations across the country in the years ahead.”

Dunkin’ Donuts has 370 locations across Latin America, while Baskin-Robbins has nearly 90 locations there.

Grupo Tagaropulos is a leading Panamanian conglomerate specializing in food and consumer goods, real estate development and wholesale food, the release said. The group operates more than 90 retail stores and has more than 250,000 square meters of gross leasable area in Panama.
