Opposition to Ban on Imports of Legal Weapons

The ban in force since 2010, affects companies in the industry and has not achieved its purpose of reducing the use of firearms by criminals.

From a statement issued by the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama:

The Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama is opposed to the new extension of the ban on imports of legal firearms

Panama, 11 December 2015.- The Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP), guarantor and protector of the rights and legitimate interests of the business sector, expressed concern about the further extension of the suspension of imports of firearm, whose use is permitted in the country, by companies in this industry who are duly authorized to carry out these trades.
