$175 million Resort

A plan is being made to develop residential buildings and a 614 room hotel complex in a 25 acres area in the touristic area of Rio Hato, Panama.

The promoter of the project, Agro Playa Blanca SA, detailed in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) submitted to the Ministry of Environment, that the development will be called “Agro Playa Blanca Phase II”, and will be built in Rio Hato, district of Antón, province of Cocle.

The location of the project area is near to the JW Marriott Panama Golf & Beach Resort, Royal Decameron Golf Beach Resort & Villas, as well as other resorts developed in the area of Rio Hato.

In the EIA it is explained that the proposal includes construction of houses (villas and townhouses), apartments (medium and high density), a 614 room hotel (with restaurant, bar, spa, gym, daycare and retail stores) , beach clubs (swimming pool, bar and restaurant), marina (with arrival area, apartments, gas station, commercial plaza, dock for boats) wastewater treatment plant ; as well as access roads, water supply, drainage, provision of electricity, internet and other basic services.

The estimated budget to develop the project is $175 million.
