Panama: Licenses for Power Plants

Three companies have been granted provisional licenses to build and operate three power plants of 15 MW, 55 MW and 322 MW.

On August 28 Generación Eléctrica Chilca Panamá, S.A. obtained a license to build and operate a thermal power generation plant with an installed capacity of 322 MW, called PSB-1??. The plant will be located in the village of Cativá, district and province of Colon. See full resolution.

On August 26 the company Termo Canal S de RL obtained a provisional license for twelve months to build and operate a thermal power generation plant of 55 MW, called Térmica Termo Canal I, in the village of Punta Robalo, district of Chiriqui Grande, Province Bocas del Toro. See resolution.

The company OBS Panama SA, obtained provisional license to develop a thermoelectric power plant, with capacity to generate 15 MW, called Central Terminca OBS, in the village of Llano Sanchez, district of Aguadulce and province of Coclé. The license was granted by the National Authority of Public Services on August 27, 2015. See resolution.
