Malls, residential projects, sewage works and power plants are part of the list of environmental impact studies presented in February in Panama.
The report “Construction Projects in Panama – February 2015”, prepared by the Business Intelligence Unit of CentralAmericaData.COM, provides a list of major construction projects which in the month of January presented environmental impact studies (EIS) to the National Environmental Authority (ANAM).
One of the projects for which an EIA was submitted involves the construction of a mixed real estate development, made up of 12 buildings of up to 8 stories high which surround the land plus a mall, which will have an area of ??17 hectares. It is reported that the project, called “Central Plaza La Chorrera” was presented by the company Next Big Step Realty SA according to indications in the EIA, has an estimated value of $18 million and will be located in the district La Chorrera, Barrio district of Colon, in the province of Panama.
In the energy sector, an EIA was presented for the constriction of a solar photovoltaic plant of 9.99 MW, estimated at $16 million and located in the town of Aguadulce, Cocle Province.The project is called “Milton Solar” and the company that submitted the EIS is Llano Sánchez Solar Power One, S.A.
Additionally, an EIA was presented for port infrastructure works and mining projects in different areas of the country.
