Paradise exists all around the world, however it is said that the paradisiacal sites of Panama are magical! Here you can experience the perfect sports of the tropics, surfing, hiking, diving, skydiving, canopy, kitesurf and more. In Panama it is possible to enjoy and make a dream come true, from camping under the stars to climbing a dormant volcano or jumping on a parachute, admiring paradise on earth from the skies.
Panama is a country that allows you to practice endless activities and extreme sports. The adventurer finds what he is looking for here, on our isthmus, and if you are looking for a little help there are tourist companies that will advise you so that you can enjoy the thousand activities that await you.
Among these activities, we offer you the following ideas:
FOUR WHEELS
Touring impressive places with privileged views in Chiriquí with 4-wheelers ATVs, such as the Barú volcano, being the highest point in the country and the highest in southern Central America, with a height of 3 thousand 475 meters above sea level. Imagine the impressive view from that height.
Enter DoPanama.com to see the companies that carry out these activities such as ATV Adventures Boquete, which gives visitors the option of climbing the volcano and its surroundings, guided in 4 × 4 and 4WD vehicles.
DIVING
If you like the sea more than the mountains, one hour from the capital city you can venture into the practice of diving in calm waters. Remember to be certified by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), to achieve it. If you are not a professional diver, remember that it is necessary to take a course that you can do in Scuba Diving Panama, with basic classes lasting a full week. In addition, you can enjoy the open sea course which already reaches an advanced level.
SKYDIVING
If you prefer something with more adrenaline, skydiving is the perfect option! Panama is a paradise to practice especially for its beaches and its spectacular view.
From all over the world we receive paratroopers who love to jump on Contadora Island. You can practice passenger jumps accompanied by a professional instructor, you can also take skydiving courses for beginners and advanced. All carried out with the highest safety standards of the USPA (United States Parachuting Association)
CANOPY
Panama is full of places where you can practice canopy or zip line, among theme parks that combine agriculture and adventure in one place. The canopy is characterized by its spectacular view and a 700-meter-long cable running from side to side.
It can be practiced at Boquete Tree Treek, in Chiriquí. This place has 14 platforms from which you can see waterfalls, the Barú volcano and exotic birds. It’s four hours at $ 65.00 per person. One of the extreme sports that only need your adventurous spirit.
SURF & KITESURF
Returning to the sea, but this time on its surface, the surf. Literally one of the most practiced sports in Panama due to our abundance of beaches.
Mentioning Venao as one of the beautiful and famous beaches where surfing is practiced a lot. However, close to the city is El Palmar beach, in San Carlos, Panama Oeste. In this place there is a wide variety of hotels and companies that offer surf lessons for all levels, as well as board rental. You will find this and more information at DoPanama.com.
Kitesurfing is another great sport that you can practice in Panama. It is an exciting sport that drives all surfers crazy and Punta Chame is the perfect place to practice it, where you can experience the pleasure of riding the winds over the beautiful Panamanian waters.
CAMPING
Not everything is extreme in Panama, since from time to time a good camping in the mountains is exactly the necessary cure to recharge batteries.
It is considered an obligatory activity in our country, since it can be done in spectacular places. One of them is the La Yeguada forest reserve, located in Santiago, Veraguas province. Right there you can swim and kayak in the lagoon surrounded by beautiful landscapes with pine forests.
We can also mention the Altos de Campana National Park. This has rivers, waterfalls, rock formations, caves and nature trails where you can admire numerous plants and animals.
Finally, we can mention the Laguna de San Carlos, in Panama Oeste, another of the most beautiful places to camp, where you can also swim, fish and climb the Picacho hill.
Remember, to access these areas you need to obtain a permit from the Ministry of the Environment office to be able to camp, something that really does not discourage you.
If you like extreme, come to Panama where you can enjoy all this and much more. We are waiting for you to live the extreme adventure!
Stay Safe!!
