Princess Cruises’ Coral Princess opened the Panama Canal’s 2014 cruise season after passing through the waterway during her repositioning voyage from Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale in Florida.

Coral Princess is just one of the 200 cruise ships scheduled to transit the canal this season, which will end in April 2015. Other cruise lines offering itineraries of more than ten days with a Panama Canal transit include Holland America Line, Celebrity Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line. Other ships scheduled to transit through the canal include Paul Gauguin Cruises’ Tere Moana and Windstar Cruises’ Wind Spirit, which will both sail seven-day itineraries along the west coast of Central America.

In addition, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ Europa 2 will sail through the canal on 20 January, while Costa Cruises will transit the waterway on 24 April.
