Panama: Date Set Thermal Energy Tender

As part of Panama’s program to keep up with the growing demand for electrical power, another tender has gone out.

Empresa de Transmisión Eléctrica will be holding a tender for the supply of 200 MW of thermal energy on September 11.  The contract includes two lines: the first, corresponding to a power supply for the period between January and June 2015, and the second from July 1, 2015 until June 30, 2020.

In the first, firms can participate who currently have contracts for 160 MW and which expire on 30 September. ”

In the second, proposals can be submitted by companies that are currently operating, but is also expected that new generators will be attracted.”

With the 200 MW that which they wish to contract the company is seeking to meet the requirements of the distribution companies Elektra Noreste, SA, Empresa de Distribucion Electrica Metro-Oeste, SA and Empresa de Distribucion Electrica Chiriquí, SA.
