Supply from the world’s largest producer could drop this year to 45 million bags of 60 kilos, partly due to a decrease in the inventory of robusta beans in Espirito Santo.
A report by the financial advisory firm FCStone reveals that the estimated production in Brazil this year could close at 44-45 million bags of 60 kilos. This estimate is based, according FCStone on a reduction in the production of conilon, a variety of robusta beans.
An article on Reuters.com cites a report by FCStone: “We believe that the reduction, greater than expected, in the production of Espirito Santo will contribute to reducing the total harvest for this year. At the same time, in southern Minas Gerais, in contrast, there will be a small increase in production. ”
“Without any doubt, we need to perform further analysis in the coming weeks to provide better quantification of expected production volumes.”
