{"id":857,"date":"2010-05-10T16:17:50","date_gmt":"2010-05-10T21:17:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/?p=857"},"modified":"2010-05-25T11:33:39","modified_gmt":"2010-05-25T16:33:39","slug":"life-in-panama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/life-in-panama\/","title":{"rendered":"Life in Panama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/jump.jpg\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/dig.jpg\"><\/a>Well, the news is still good from all corners of Panama, Central and South America\u00a0as Latin America continues to surge ahead despite mister magoos wild ride on Wall Street and the Greeks trying their best to destroy themselves along with Spain, Portugal and most of the EU rim.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I took a break from all the hysteria\u00a0last week as my son Thomas and my daughter Ashleigh\u00a0are in town and it\u00a0is time to celebrate my daughter&#8217;s graduation from Florida International University (Dean&#8217;s list School of Journalism and Mass Communication\u00a06 straight semesters, yeah!!).\u00a0 One down, one to go folks.\u00a0 OK, I have to brag and also take this opportunity to help her on the next step in her life so here goes a little side step.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"compressed grad pic\" src=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/compressed-grad-pic-141x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"141\" height=\"150\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ashleigh is taking a short break after 6 years of college while at the same time working at Miami-Dade Days, which besides helping her learn to organize major events, was the best crisis management training a person could ever ask for.\u00a0 Think Tiger Woods Honey!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There are plenty of PR and Government lobbyest opportunities out there so she will do well.\u00a0\u00a0 (Just in case and you have an opportunity you wish to offer, here is her resume\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/ashleigh-j.-brymer-resume2.pdf\">Ashleigh Brymer&#8217;s Resume<\/a>\u00a0)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Here is a little about Miami-Dade Days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Miami-Dade County Days in Tallahassee is a two-day celebration of our community during the Florida Legislative Session.\u00a0 Dade Days is considered the premier event during the Session, including more than 1,000 people, who represent over 200 organizations, from both the private and public sectors.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The annual &#8220;Paella Fest&#8221; is a tradition of ours, which illustrates the diverse culture of our county through its extravagant culinary art. The event feeds over 3,000 people, including the Governor and Florida Legislators. Since it is free and open to the public, everyone is invited and able to attend. It is a wonderful opportunity for participants to meet with our Miami-Dade Delegation as well as Florida&#8217;s Legislators.\u00a0 Now that is a lot of Paella.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/paela-fest.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-864\" title=\"paela fest\" src=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/paela-fest.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/paela-fest.jpg 448w, https:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/paela-fest-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/2008mkngstable.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"2008mkngstable\" src=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/2008mkngstable.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"449\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From Ashleigh,\u00a0<a title=\"Professional Free Spirit\" href=\"http:\/\/professionalfreespirit.com\/\">\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I was just a wide-eyed 19-year-old when I was asked to take over for the previous administrator who left with very short notice.\u00a0 I seriously had no idea what I was getting into here, which is probably the only reason I have been here for so long.\u00a0 If I had known I was about to enter the world of not for profit political event planning at the age of 19, I don\u2019t think I would have been so eager to jump right in a stay awhile.\u00a0 But I\u2019m so glad that I did.\u00a0 I work 300+ days a year to stand back and watch two days in Tallahassee come together almost seamlessly.\u00a0 I can honestly say that it is the greatest\u00a0 feeling of accomplishment to watch it all play out.\u00a0 That look I have on my face in the photo above is\u00a0 genuine happiness.\u00a0 I get goosebumps just reminiscing. And the people I work with are really amazing people.\u00a0 They give their all for every project they take on, and that work ethic has rubbed off on me.\u00a0 I have become immersed in the entire process of running the office and helping to plan the events.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After\u00a0six years at the same job, I have earned awards, recognition and respect from my superiors and peers.\u00a0 I have made it into the \u201cfive or more years of experience\u201d bracket that so many employers are so fond of requiring.\u00a0 I have taken a ride on the roller coaster of \u201cI hate my job but I love my job\u201d countless times, exiting at the point I like to think of as \u201cI\u2019m very satisfied with my work.\u201d More importantly, I am very satisfied with who I have become because of this job.
