At the  airport in Miami, they have chosen to provide regular bottled water to  passengers stuck in long lines and the CBP has been asked permission to  install a station for snacks in the hallways, said airport spokesman <span class=\"hlink\">Greg Chin<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, CBP admits that waiting times have increased, pointing to the  lack of agents as being the main problem. A CBP official stated that in  the past three years, the number of people arriving at U.S. <span class=\"hlink\">airports<\/span> from abroad rose by 12% to record levels of more than 100 million a  year, while the number of agents had no significant changes.<\/p>\n<p>Airports and airlines indicate that a number of federal budget cuts in  the country which came into effect in March, have caused lines to get  longer. &#8220;For non-citizens, it is almost the worst in the world,&#8221; said <span class=\"hlink\">Chris Rodwell<\/span>, a <span class=\"hlink\">tourist<\/span> from the UK who in the last month has endured long waits at Chicago and  JFK, both of over 70 minutes, which motivated him to change his flight  plans in order to avoid Miami.<\/p>\n<p class=\"link_source\">Source:
