Panama is a very small country; just smaller than the state of Indiana and they have a population of about 3 million people. About one fourth of the county&#8217;s populations lives in Panama City, because of this, Panama city is the center of the country&#8217;s Christmas celebration.<\/p>\n<p>On the second weekend in December the festivities begin. The Panama City Christmas parade is one of the most exciting Panama Christmas traditions. The poor children from around the city are gathered together and brought to the center of the festivities, so they, too, can enjoy them. The floats are decorated in the national styles and the women dress in their country&#8217;s party dresses.<\/p>\n<p><em> <a href=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/christmas-man.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6439\" title=\"christmas man\" src=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/christmas-man.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/panama-costumes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6441\" title=\"panama costumes\" src=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/panama-costumes.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/panama-costumes.jpg 640w, https:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/panama-costumes-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/christmas-panama2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6434\" title=\"christmas panama2\" src=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/christmas-panama2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"602\" height=\"371\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Smaller neighborhoods love to hold the Spanish <em>Las Posada <\/em>on the nine days before Christmas. They dress as Mary and Joseph. To mimic the search for a place in the inn, they parade from house to house. At the final house where they are received, they sing, hit pi\u00f1atas and enjoy food.<\/p>\n<p><em>Nacimientos,<\/em> Nativities are set up in many homes.<\/p>\n<p>On Christmas Eve at midnight, the Panamanians don&#8217;t ring the Christmas bells to announce the coming of the Lord Jesus, but instead shoot off fabulous fireworks. No one misses the beginning of Christmas in Panama.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/fireworks.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6444\" title=\"fireworks\" src=\"http:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/fireworks.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"377\" srcset=\"https:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/fireworks.jpg 1023w, https:\/\/panamaadvisoryinternationalgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/fireworks-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They have a night time feast and there is much dancing and celebrating in the streets of Panama. At the feast you can expect to dine on Chicken tamales, <em>Arroz con Pollo<\/em> chicken and rice, Perhaps, <em>pavo<\/em> turkey and <em>relleno,<\/em> stuffing. Beautiful bowls of fruit and fruitcake are the traditional desserts. A form of spiked eggnog called <em>Ron Ponche<\/em> is often served.<\/p>\n<p>For the huge Catholic population, the biggest feast of the holiday season in Panama is on December 24\u2014or <em>Nochebuena<\/em>. Typical fare is often a mix of Latin and gringo traditions\u2026turkey and ham, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and fruitcake may all be on the table.<\/p>\n<p><a
