from its Board of Directors for the construction of a new 5 Megawatt (MW) solar plant, a key step in the progress towards a more sustainable energy model for Panama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new solar plant aims to significantly increase the renewable energy generation capacity in Panama, so the use of the country&#8217;s solar resources will optimize the production of clean electricity, contributing to the stability and strength of the national energy system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This expansion project will also reduce dependence on non-renewable energy sources and bring Panama closer to greater self-sufficiency in energy production, and the new solar plant is expected to strengthen the commitment to sustainability, as the country works on its transition to a greener energy future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, EGESA operates the Sarigua Solar Plant, which with an installed capacity of 2.4 MW supplies 30% of the electricity consumption of the Parita District, benefiting more than 7,000 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incorporation of the new 5 MW plant will significantly increase the production of clean energy, consolidating Panama&#8217;s position as a leader in the use of renewable energy in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons
