This was confirmed by the general administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), Iv\u00e1n Eskildsen, during his visit to the inauguration of Fiexpo Latin America 2023, which was held at the Panama Convention Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The statements were confirmed by the general administrator of the Authority for the Attraction of Investments and Promotion of Exports (ProPanam\u00e1), Carmen Gisela Vergara, and by Ovidio D\u00edaz, president of the National Chamber of Tourism (Camtur).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;The ATP administrator found that conventions were the segment that helped the economic recovery of tourism the fastest. For example, he mentioned that with the Panama Convention Center, the number of visitors expected from the contract was assumed to double. 2022 was the first full year of operations with the arrival of 96,000 people.
