The governments of Panama and Colombia have planned to build binational posts in the Caribbean and the Pacific. There would be two more to the three already existing in the Dari\u00e9n jungle.<\/p>\n

The objective of the two new binational posts is to reinforce and create a barrier to block mobility corridors.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Security of Panama, Juan Pino, explained that the Caribbean post would be located in the R\u00edo Balsa sector.<\/p>\n

The head of Security, in the company of the Minister of Defense of Colombia, Iv\u00e1n Vel\u00e1squez; made a visit to the Binational Post of Alto Lim\u00f3n, where issues related to border security were discussed.<\/p>\n

Pino explained that the primary function of these Binational Posts on the Colombian-Paname\u00f1a border – which are each built in their respective territory – is the strategic consolidation of this region and the actions of these criminal organizations.<\/p>\n

The National Border Service (Senafront) shares three (3) Binational Posts with Colombia: Alto Lim\u00f3n, La Uni\u00f3n and La Olla, which are fundamental for the support and execution of operations by Panamanian forces, which has led to positive factors in the “Strategy” of territorial strengthening.<\/p>\n

These positions aim to maintain a presence in the area and have a strategic platform for both countries in the obstruction of drug trafficking mobility corridors.<\/p>\n

In addition, the execution of humanitarian aid operations in neighboring communities, in order that they are not violated by criminal cells.<\/p>\n

The border cordon was used by the former Narco-Terrorist Organization ONT-FARC, specifically the 57 Front, in order to maintain<\/p>\n

They use land routes for the transfer of illicit substances, placing themselves at strategic points as rest areas to subsequently continue with their journey and thus transport illicit substances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
