Welcome to the\u00a0fourth in this series of Panama road trips for 2011.\u00a0 We have already been back to Pedasi three times\u00a0this year, meeting with customers and enjoying this incredible place that is still undiscovered by most people, even with\u00a0many Panamanians who have never ventured out of the City past the gold coast.\u00a0 While the\u00a0inventory of rooms in Pedasi was once counted on a couple of hands, there are numerous places to stay now and enjoy in\u00a0this place I call Paradise!\u00a0 Plus the real estate opportunities that we will show you are at the lowest price that they will ever be and the availability to the best is very limited.\u00a0 As I like to say, think Costa Rica 20 years ago!<\/p>\n

Let’s take a look at these places in Paradise.<\/p>\n

This trip, we stayed with 4 other couples in a multi million dollar villa in the development called Azueros which is one of Panama’s premiere developments and the area is home to some of the wealthiest families including a billionaire who has a home around the corner.\u00a0 After tossing around those kinds of numbers, \u00a0let me tell you that\u00a0the rate is only $1,400 per night\u00a0for entire villa.\u00a0 Welcome to Villa Esplenderosa<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Our villa was ultra comfortable and we had one of the most soothing night’s sleep listening to the thunderous surf breaking below us.\u00a0 The stars were so thick out at night that the milky way was like a banner across the sky!!\u00a0\u00a0 We had a pool, full gym, sauna, steam, Turkish bath, media room, 5 bedrooms and a roof top bohio, bar and grill.<\/p>\n

It was birthday time for two of the girls so we did plenty of partying!\u00a0 Eat, drink and be merry.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Azueros development was a project that was designed by an old world architect from Europe who brought in artisans to train the local people.\u00a0\u00a0Local craftsmen have learned to use native wood, stone and old world techniques of construction here in Pedasi from the designer Gilles Saint-Gilles at this project\u00a0Azueros<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 It\u00a0rivals anywhere else in the world.\u00a0 This area is like the riviera of Panama.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You can also still buy oceanfront property in this market from 40 cents per square foot\u00a0for larger parcels to $10 per square foot for an ocean view \u00a0lot in a gated community with quality infrastructure.\u00a0 This is of course today, not 2 years from now.\u00a0 Also, \u00a0there are only a few properties that have title and usage up to 72 feet from high tide here\u00a0in the Pedasi area.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Some of the estate homes in the area are incredible but can still\u00a0be built for\u00a0around\u00a0$100 per square foot.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

With a canvas like Pedasi, creating your dream home\u00a0can come easy.\u00a0 We have architects and builders who can work with you to insure that no detail is left out.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

A short\u00a0drive from Pedasi town\u00a0is Venao beach, a very bohemian place\u00a0like Playa del Carmen<\/strong><\/a> was in Mexico before the market exploded. \u00a0Unlike Mexico, Panama does not have hurricanes!<\/p>\n

Venao has\u00a0 big time Vibe. \u00a0\u00a0The area is magical and one can ride horseback on the beach, fish, snorkel, visit a local beach bar and restaurant, eat the local specialty fresh caught red snapper or yellow fin tuna, have a cocktail and watch the sunset.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0For the more adventurous, try surfing\u00a0in\u00a0this beginners to medium rated surf, or just sit back with a mojito and watch the beautiful people carve the waves. \u00a0We can offer you ocean front land or land in the hills above the beach.<\/p>\n

\"PLAYA \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

A breeze comes in off of the Pacific Ocean and is more than welcome beneath the hot, tropical sun in the clear skies above Pedasi, Panama. Residents and tourists visiting Pedasi \u00a0relax to the soothing sound of nearby Pacific waves that greet the sandy beaches and rocky shores. The hustle and bustle of city life is unknown in these peaceful Panamanian hinterlands. One of the outposts of the Azuero Peninsula, small and quiet Pedasi, Panama seems to exist in another time and place.<\/p>\n

\"Ocaso,<\/p>\n

My wife Susie and I have been looking at homes in town and on the ocean a short walk from town where there are a couple of nice projects.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The oceanfront lots there are fabulous and each has access down to the beach below.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

You can buy a small ocean view lot for $124,000 or an oceanfront lot with an incredible beachfront for under $375,000, again all underground utilities and a\u00a0filled to grade building lot right on the ocean.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Two and a half years ago when I came here for the first time, all of this was on paper and roads were being cut in.\u00a0 Now the infrastructure has been built and there are a couple of dozen homes going up this year.\u00a0 Most of the first phases are sold out and we looked at the second phase lots, many of which have already been sold.\u00a0 \u00a0That is not bad for the market conditions that existed during 2008 to 2011.\u00a0 Pedasi has reached the tipping point and it is definitely on its way up.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Come see for yourself what makes Pedasi special but don’t wait too long.\u00a0 \u201cThere is a slowness to Pedasi; a rhythm in the way people live day to day.\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s inevitable that in a few days you will slow down. Your hurry will turn\u00a0into a cold beer (for 50 cents), waiting for the local taxi to\u00a0pick you up and take you to visit Isla Iguana, an island that everybody talks\u00a0about with good reason. When you get to the beach the fisherman that has been\u00a0waiting for you doesn\u2019t question why you are late. There\u00a0is no need for an explanation: everybody is late.\u00a0 He starts the engine and\u00a0somewhere on the way the hum of the engine becomes hypnotic, the ocean slaps\u00a0against the side of the boat, a light occasional spray\u00a0covers you. A short one hour drive and you can get to Las Tablas, a modern town where you will find just about anything else you need.\u00a0 Pedasi has a regional airport and is less than an hour\u2019s flight from Panama City and a four and a half hour drive by car.<\/p>\n
