class=\"hlink\" title=\"sugar\" href=\"https:\/\/www.centralamericadata.com\/en\/search?q1=content_en_le:%22sugar%22\">sugar<\/a> in Central America was Guatemala, with $706 million, followed by El Salvador, with $184 million, Nicaragua, with $109 million, Costa Rica with $103 million, Honduras, with $42 million and Panama with $22 million.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Variation of regional exports<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span dir=\"ltr\">Between the first nine months of 2016 and 2017, the value <a class=\"hlink\" title=\"exports\" href=\"https:\/\/www.centralamericadata.com\/en\/search?q1=content_en_le:%22exports%22\">exported<\/a> from the region grew by 41%, increasing from $827 million to $1.166 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\">The increase recorded in the first three quarters of 2017 represents a recovery in sales abroad, as for the periods in question in 2014 and 2016, negative
