producers&#8217; association estimates that production of chicken meat has grown by almost 40% in the last nine years, while annual per capita consumption went from 68 pounds in 2007 to 92 pounds at id=\"li_ui_li_gen_1519655218039_0-link\"><\/a><span id=\"li_ui_li_gen_1519655218039_0-logo\">in<\/span><span id=\"li_ui_li_gen_1519655218039_0-title\"><span class=\"hlink\" title=\"Luis Carlos Castroverde\" href=\"https:\/\/www.centralamericadata.com\/en\/search?q1=content_en_le:%22Luis+Carlos+Castroverde%22&amp;q2=mattersInCountry_es_le:%22Panama%22\">Luis Carlos Castroverde<\/a>, greater consumption of the product is due to the investments that the industry has made in production and consumption of chicken.<\/span>\u00a0<\/em><span dir=\"ltr\"><em>&#8220;In recent years we have made significant investments in technology, controlled environment, room temperature which has an effect on the development and growth of chickens, genetics, these are some of the factors that have influenced the industry&#8217;s growth.<\/em>&#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;<em>&#8230;<\/em><\/span><em>\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\">Figures from the Comptroller General of the Republic show that production of <a class=\"hlink\" title=\"chicken meat\" href=\"https:\/\/www.centralamericadata.com\/en\/search?q1=content_en_le:%22chicken+meat%22&amp;q2=mattersInCountry_es_le:%22Panama%22\">chicken meat<\/a> from January to December 2017 grew by 3.5%, however, there was a deceleration compared to the same period in 2016 when it registered 6.6%.<\/span>\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\">Faced with this situation, Castroverde indicated that he does not know what the Comptroller&#8217;s Office&#8217;s source is.<\/span>\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Our source is the Ministry of Health that takes the data in each of the plants that process the chickens.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/em><span dir=\"ltr\"><em>That has been our guide year after year,&#8221; he said.<\/em>&#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p
