portfolio for housing and commercial construction exceeded $14.7 billion, and more than 19,000 houses and 545 buildings were built in Panama in the last six years.<\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\">A combination of low interest rates coupled with a growing and stable real estate supply account for much of the growth in real estate and\u00a0<a class=\"hlink\" title=\"construction\" href=\"http:\/\/www.centralamericadata.com\/en\/search?q1=content_en_le:%22construction%22&amp;q2=mattersInCountry_es_le:%22Panama%22\">construction<\/a>\u00a0activities in Panama.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\">The figures even make it possible to state that despite the growth in the\u00a0<a class=\"hlink\" title=\"Real Estate\" href=\"http:\/\/www.centralamericadata.com\/en\/search?q1=content_en_le:%22Real+Estate%22&amp;q2=mattersInCountry_es_le:%22Panama%22\">real estate<\/a>\u00a0supply, there is still unsatisfied demand, therefore the good performance of the sector should continue in the medium term.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\">See also &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.centralamericadata.com\/en\/search?q1=content_en_le:%22Banco+Nacional+de+Panam%C3%A1%22&amp;q2=mattersInCountry_es_le:%22Panama%22\">Banco Nacional de Panam\u00e1<\/a>, Rolando de Le\u00f3n de Alba, commented that &#8220;<em>&#8230; the areas most valued for the real estate sector are Costa del Este, El Cangrejo, El Carmen, via Argentina, Punta Pacifica, Punta Paitilla, Altos<\/em><em>\u00a0de Panama, Centennial, 12 de Octubre, Panama Pacific, San Francisco, Clayton, Albrook and Altos del Golf, among others.&#8221;<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n\n<div class=\"wpcf7 no-js\"
