just returned from our cruise at the Port of Colon, I can say that the new port location on Amador will give Panama a huge edge on the WOW factor upon passengers arriving to the City.\u00a0 I am afraid the Colon will always remain the same no matter how many parks they try to build in the City.<\/p>\n<p>The consortium formed by China Harbor Engineering Company Limited and Jan de Nul Panama has been awarded a contract to design, build and operate a cruise terminal in Amador.<\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\">The<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"hlink\" title=\"Panama\" href=\"http:\/\/www.centralamericadata.com\/en\/search?q1=content_en_le:%22Panama%22&amp;q2=mattersInCountry_es_le:%22Panama%22\">Panama<\/a><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>Maritime Authority has<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"hlink\" title=\"awards\" href=\"http:\/\/www.centralamericadata.com\/en\/search?q1=content_en_le:%22awards%22&amp;q2=mattersInCountry_es_le:%22Panama%22\">awarded<\/a><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>the consortium Cruceros del Pac\u00c3\u00adfico a contract to design, build and operate a<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"hlink\" title=\"Cruise Terminal\" href=\"http:\/\/www.centralamericadata.com\/en\/search?q1=content_en_le:%22Cruise+Terminal%22&amp;q2=mattersInCountry_es_le:%22Panama%22\">cruise terminal<\/a><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>on Perico Island, in the Amador Causeway.<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\">The\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fcentralamericadata.com%2Fes%2Farticle%2Fhome%2FSBSE120161335LICITACION_POR_MEJOR_VALOR_CON___Compra_del_Gobierno_de_Panama_2016203008LV005618&amp;sa=D&amp;sntz=1&amp;usg=AFQjCNFXYjl5I6MA-UHRoshZZ-dUpIEtyg\">tender<\/a>, in which only the winning consortium participated, was postponed several times, at the request of the companies who had expressed their interest during the approval process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\">Prensa.com reports that<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><em>&#8220;&#8230;<\/em><\/span><em><span dir=\"ltr\">The Costa Rican company Meco had shown interest in the project and its representatives attended the act for delivering proposals, but before the time expired to deliver their documentation, they withdrew leaving only the consortium Cruceros del Pac\u00c3\u00adfico.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;&#8230;<\/span>\u00c2\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\">Hugo Garc\u00c3\u00ada, coordinator of the Special Projects Unit at the AMP commented
