Although global demand continues to show dynamism, international prices<\/a> fell again in March.<\/p>\n

From the “Report on the coffee market<\/a> in March 2015″, by the International Coffee Organization (ICO):<\/p>\n

In March 2015 the coffee market had its fifth consecutive decline, dominated by speculation about the size of the crop in Brazil for 2015\/16. In February exports<\/a> were lower compared to last year due to falling exports from Brazil and Viet Nam. The total exports in the first five months of coffee year fell 2.7%. It is estimated that production will be around 141.9 million bags in crop year 2014\/15, while the initial estimate of world coffee consumption in calendar year 2014 is 149.3 million bags, suggesting a strong global demand for coffee.<\/p>\n

In March 2015 the monthly average of the ICO’s daily composite price indicator was 10% lower than February at 127.04 US cents per pound, the lowest since January 2014. The daily price movements show no clear trend this month. The lowest level was 120.50 and the highest of 131.78, ending around the same level it started. In March the price volatility was also significantly higher compared to the previous month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
