<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\nMy Life Is Heading South is a half-hour sitcom following the lives, loves and laughs of the inhabitants of Posada del Sol, a shabby, run-down resort hotel\/bar\/casino in Belize.<\/p>\n
One of those\u00a0inhabitants\u00a0is\u00a0the handsome and highly successful\u00a0New York day trader Manuel Gonzales who is quickly tiring of the \u201cAmerican dream\u201d. For Manuel it has turned into the American nightmare.\u00a0 After losing his young wife to cancer Manuel makes the decision to pack up his precious 8-year old daughter, Rafaella (Raffi) and get off the hamster-wheel life he\u2019s been living for the past 10 years.<\/p>\n
Manuel\u2019s parents, his long-suffering mother\u00a0Rose Manuela Gonzales and enduring father Milton Luis Gonzales live in Belize.\u00a0 Rose has been insisting for years that her son come back home and bring their precious granddaughter back to them.\u00a0 After the death of Manuel\u2019s wife they feel it is the perfect time for the prodigal son\u2019s return \u2013 and for the first time in his\u00a0life he actually agrees with his mother!<\/p>\n
Purchasing the run-down Posada del Sol, Manuel feels invigorated by his decision and starts the process of being in business for himself.\u00a0 Joining the cast of characters is Maria Paula, Manuel\u2019s 20-something baby sister and carbon copy of his mother.\u00a0 Hector Jesus Vasquez is Maria\u2019s henpecked boyfriend.<\/p>\n
Javier (he will only admit to one name) is the hotel\u2019s current and only desk clerk \u2013 who prefers the title \u201cconcierge\u201d.\u00a0 His idol is Cher who he emulates so that tells one all one needs to know about \u201cJavier\u201d.<\/p>\n
Brigitte Lindstrom is a barracuda in Christian Lacroix.\u00a0 Brigitte is a friend of Manuel\u2019s who followed him to his little town to check out the resort as an investment opportunity, but in reality it\u2019s to get her hooks into Manuel.\u00a0\u00a0Little Rafaella is not fooled and definitely not impressed.<\/p>\n
Corazon, known as Cora, is the hotel\u2019s maid.\u00a0 And in her own words \u201ca damn good one\u201d.\u00a0 She\u2019s also warm, sweet, passionate and funny in a dry way \u2013 a giver not a taker.\u00a0 She and Manuel knew one another as children and she dreamed of that she would grow up one day to marry him \u2013 the man of her dreams.\u00a0 That image evaporated when he married his first wife and she put it out of her mind and wished him well.\u00a0 Cora also sees through Brigitte and feels that she now has another chance at happiness with the man who she thought had gotten away.<\/p>\n
This series is filled with love and laughs along with the pitfalls of what it means to be human in every sense of the word.\u00a0 There is much humanity to be found in this little town and in this shabby little Posada del Sol.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
