Girl-in-Hammock-at-Red-Frog-Beach

The beach at Red Frog is perhaps the most beautiful beach in Panama and Red Frog Resort is perhaps one of the finest beach resorts here also.  Their Marina is first class and is a gateway to hundreds of islands offshore.  My friends at Red Frog just sent me their newsletter and Exploratory Video.

Red Frog was awarded Best Landscape Architecture in Panama and the Best Leisure Development Panama by the American Property Awards.

Here is their Summer 2016 Newsletter.

High Season this year kept us very busy! We had a record number of guests come and enjoy Red Frog Beach, and based on all the reviews- they loved it! Most guests come to our island resort because we are unique and exotic compared to other places in Panama. Most resorts in Panama are on the Pacific side of the country that have average beaches and a large tidal change each day that can leave some of the beaches a bit muddy. Our beaches are among the best in Central America and our unique island setting with the adjacent National Park sets us apart being able to offer vacationers the best of beaches, nature and an upscale place to stay.

We’re always working to improve our guest experience here. Because our resort is so spread-out, guests enjoy the feeling of privacy and being surrounded by nature. However, our staff of over 80 people work hard to make sure we are “in-touch” with our guests and try to anticipate their needs. We have added more activities and tours, along with standardized daily maid service for our guests. We have also improved the restaurant service and have implemented surveys to each of our guests at departure so we know what areas need improvement. Our local indigenous workforce has worked very hard to get where we are today and we are grateful for their diligence and care.

There are several future amenities coming that we believe will dramatically improve the guest experience at Red Frog Beach that are all very exciting! The grocery store, our first beachfront unit with private “hotel rooms”, and the Beach Club at Turtle Beach will help put Red Frog Beach in a category all by itself in Panama.

Construction Progress

The grocery store in the Marina Village is almost complete! The “Red Frog Tienda” will be a very welcome amenity for our residents and vacation guests. No longer will our visitors have to take a water taxi into Bocas to shop for provisions. The store will be opening in the near future and offer a wide array of groceries.

The Beach Club is coming along nicely. The original designs were enhanced to make the beach club multi-level to offer more views and integrate more into the hillside so it will seem to hover above the beach. The Beach Club will include a resort-style pool, bar and an event center that can host corporate groups and weddings. We plan to maintain a very authentic Beach Club vibe. Between the night landscape-lighting and the natural water features, the Beach Club will really add to the ambiance of the entire island.

We’re also making great progress with our new Luxury Condos. The setting there is so private most of our guest’s don’t notice the construction. The views from there are spectacular and if you venture to the hillside location, you will see for yourself! The marketing department created an online video that shows a rendering of what this special place will look like when finished. These units will rent well and will add to the variety of accommodation choices that guests can experience at the resort.

Property for Sale

With the country opening the greatly anticipated and much larger third set of Panama Canal locks this summer, and its economy humming over 6%, more buyers are coming to Panama. If you are interested, it is a good time to visit with so many great future amenities coming soon. Panama’s economic and political stability is attracting a lot of direct foreign investment from places like Venezuela, Brazil and the U.S. where the economy is stagnant.

Environment

You may have seen Red Frog Beach in the news lately with the installation of the centralized solar plant. Red Frog now has one of the largest island resort centralized solar stations in the Americas! If you fly over the resort you will notice all the solar panels on the roofs of the buildings in our logistic areas.

For those that have an interest in getting involved with the community in Bocas del Toro, The Red Frog Foundation is a non-profit organization that has contributed substantially to the local community with a focus on children and the environment. The 501(c)3 foundation is primarily run by a group of property owners at Red Frog Beach and they welcome involvement.

Treasure Hunt

Red Frog Beach Island Resort was chosen as the grand prize for a large Treasure Hunt competition sponsored by a major sun glass company in the U.S. This treasure hunt required people in 13 different cities across the U.S. to find clues to an actual buried treasure based on clues they would receive after posting pictures on Instagram. This competition was one of the top trending contests in the world on Instagram and Red Frog was recognized and seen by millions of people! Red Frog was an excellent choice because of the long history of pirates and tales of buried treasure in the area.

Owner’s Open House: Sep 24th – Oct 2nd

Our annual Owners Open House will be September 24th to October 2nd this year. Owners and Partners of the project share a week together going over the progress and future plans at Red Frog Beach, along with enjoying many fun activities. Red Frog Beach Island Resort is committed to bringing residents together whenever possible, and this has been integral in developing a special community here at Red Frog not often found at other resort communities.

Reasons to check out Panama Now – Health Care

According to Health View Services 2016 Retirement Health Care Costs Data Report reported on Bloomberg: The average 65-year-old couple for Medicare parts B, D, and supplemental coverage will cost $288,000. Add out of pocket like dental, hearing and vision… it goes to $377,412 in today’s dollar. Adjusting for inflation it increases to $435,472 just for premiums. Add to that deductibles, co-pays, hearing, vision, dental and you need $567,903!

A 65 year-old retiring this year will have to allocate 57% of his or her social security payments to healthcare, not accounting for a projected 5.1% per year health care inflation for the next 20 years. This is one of several major factors that more and more people will seek affordable living locations with adequate health care. Panama definitely stands out in terms of costs and quality of affordable healthcare.
